::This attraction is a work in progress. It is free to visit. It is an attempt to cultivate, and isolate, the plants native to Tonga, and the island of Tongatapu. There is a sign at the gates listing the invasive species that the Toloa Rainforest is attempting to keep out. The walk through the forest only takes around 10 or so minutes. Some trees are labeled with their names and traditional uses. Other than that, there is not much information provided.

::It's hard to review the Toloa Rainforest because it was locked when we arrived on a weekday - having read that the public has access - and so we found a way to get in when we weren't supposed to 😬. The concept of restoring 52 acres of native rainforest is great. A small area has been restored to date and there is a 10-minute loop walk through the forest. A number of trees have plaques identifying the species and their traditional uses e.g. medicine or firewood. We saw a bat fly overhead, and heard plenty of birdlife. At the entrance is an attractively landscaped reserve that would be nice for picnics. The adjacent boys' college is the custodian of the forest. Hopefully they will start opening it up to the public and offer guided tours as planned.
